Wellbeing and Crafts

Crafts and wellbeing are closely connected. Crafting creates a mindful moment for the crafter. The ability to slow down, to focus on one activity, to create with your hands and be still… is an artform in wellbeing.

From crochet to handsewing, dressmaking to baking, paper mache to journaling… creating something, whether from your own imagination or with guidance, comes with an enormous sense of achievement. You leave the world behind, thinking only of the present moment as you craft, count, write, draw and sew. Working in this way for your own pleasure is something many of us have lost along the way. I will help you find it, explore and develop your passions, and help you find sustainable ways to create an enjoyable and self fulfilling wellbeing habit.

I offer one to one or group workshops in:

Crochet

Dressmaking

Sewing soft toys and bags

Recycling textiles

Upcycling clothing

Textile jewellery

Paper Mache

Creative Writing and Journalling

Whether you are a beginner, wanting to stretch your experience, or are after a one off crafting experience for your self, your friends, your kids, or your clients, I have a large range of craft activities and knowledge I want to share with you.

MY USP is that I use thrifted, gifted or recycled materials wherever possible. This enables me to help you help reduce waste, find new ways of repurposing old items, and encourages your brain to work in extra creative ways. I have been working with recycled materials for the past 12 years and it has helped me develop a new appreciation for textiles, colours and patterns.

If you cannot find an activity you are interested in on the links included, please contact me so I can direct you to someone who can provide that for you, or to remind me that is another craft I have experience in. I’ve been crafting a long time and in many different ways, so it may be I have neglected to include all in these pages.
